The genocide they feed our brains Once registered, always remains Superpowers, wanting more The only solution turns towards war Sending men against their will So the madmen get their fill Sands of time The sands of time, they slip away Sands of time The sands of time begin to decay There is no reason to this rhyme Though it’s happened time after time Wealth and power, what it’s for Oil, gold, and iron ore Rape the world for what it’s worth Destroying Mother Earth Sands of time The sands of time, they slip away Sands of time The sands of time begin to decay Take in consideration that time is not on your side You feel no remorse as you watch your people die You betrayed your country, and soon you will be overthrown You dug your own grave, and into it you will go Eroding the minds of the nation’s youth Right or wrong, they deserve the truth Ignoring the helpless, weak, and poor Just do what I say, my word is law Draw a line in the sand Make your final stand Sands of time The sands of time, they slip away Sands of time The sands of time begin to decay Sands of time The end is near, death in your face Sands of time The sands run out, you’ll die in disgrace

Mirage 05:43
Battle-weary soldiers, marching through the sand Wounded men drift on across this godforsaken land Children of a pointless war long to see their home In searing heat, with blistered feet, onward they must roam Despondent, lonely men, dreaming of their wives Cries of anguish break the silence, men fight for their lives Helpless victims left behind, baking in the sun They face the end with their best friend, a soldier and his gun The sands of time slip by, the men are surely lost Food is running out, they must keep moving at all costs Scorching days and frigid nights slowly take their toll March till they drop and never stop, they must reach their goal Sent off to this desert to battle unknown foes Following their orders, for what reason, no one knows Now they watch the vultures circling in the sky The soldiers bleed, the buzzards feed, one by one they die The hot sun burns their skin Fighting a war they can’t win Burning flesh fills the air Dying soldiers scream a prayer Thirsty men dehydrate Left to rot, grisly fate Corpses strewn about, putrid smell Sent to die in this hell

Across the desert wasteland, beyond the mighty Sphinx In monumental temples lie the fallen Egyptian kings Entombed with worldly riches, for comfort in the afterlife But grave robbers be warned: none that enter survive Imprisoned with the pharaohs Thieves beware the curse of Osiris Enter the pyramid through a hidden passage The gods shall not forgive such a sacrilege Wander through the tunnels, driven by your lust for gold You’ve nothing to lose save your eternal soul Imprisoned with the pharaohs The curse of Osiris on your head To guard against despoilers, the builders laid deadly traps You discover this abruptly as the tunnel walls collapse Tons of earth surround you, a victim of your own greed Choking to death on the rancid air, payment for your evil deed Imprisoned with the pharaohs Stricken by the curse of Osiris Imprisoned with the pharaohs No escape from the wrath of Osiris Imprisoned with the pharaohs For all eternity

Kings 08:12
Riding in ships of death and glory Day after day they continue their quest Battling the forces of Mother Nature On through the night, they forge their way west The mighty ships creak and grind The weary crew struggles for life Courageous men with the will to fight Seeking new land to corrupt with strife Viking warriors, hardened by war Viking warriors live by the sword Viking warriors conquer the land Viking warriors, taking command Kings of the ocean No one fucks with you Kings of the sea The Vikings, sailing through Kings of the land Others pay the toll Kings of the earth Never to fall Kings of war descend By dawn’s light the crew sights ground They row ashore to stake their claim Battling the natives with sword and shield Helpless women and children their game The last living creatures fall to the Vikings The New Found Land is theirs to mold Now they must rebuild the damage To shelter themselves from the bitter cold Viking warriors, hardened by war Viking warriors live by the sword Viking warriors conquer the land Viking warriors, taking command Kings of the ocean No one fucks with you Kings of the sea The Vikings, sailing through Kings of the land Others pay the toll Kings of the earth Never to fall Kings of war descend With peace comes boredom, and with boredom, death The Vikings’ bloodlust takes control Battling one another for the thrill of the hunt Now the Vikings must reap as they sowed Natural selection, the weak fall first Brother killing brother for the spoils of war Their hunger for death never satisfied The survivors set sail for a new, virgin shore Viking warriors, victims of war Viking warriors die by the sword Viking warriors, raping the land Viking warriors, blood on their hands Kings of the ocean No one fucks with you Kings of the sea The Vikings, sailing through Kings of the land Others pay the toll Kings of the earth Never to fall Kings of war descend

Nemesis 08:41
Through the ghoul-guarded gateways of slumber, Past the wan-mooned abysses of night, I have lived o’er my lives without number, I have sounded all things with my sight; And I struggle and shriek ere the daybreak, being driven to madness with fright. —H. P. Lovecraft I rule this vile, corrupted land With iron-fisted hand My followers are here by choice Manipulated pawns An apostle of doom, as old as time My rebirth is the final sign Many names through history You may call me Flagg Nemesis, controlling your mind Stripping you of your sanity Nemesis, controlling your fate Now your soul is mine The gluttonous evil attracts my fold Lepers and outcasts who do as they’re told Abject fear keeps them in line Crucify all traitors In their dreams, they hear my call They gather ’round for the final fall My triumph is etched in stone An epitaph in blood Nemesis, controlling your mind Stripping you of your sanity Nemesis, controlling your fate Now your soul is mine I rule this vile, corrupted land With iron-fisted hand My followers are here by choice Manipulated pawns An apostle of doom, as old as time My rebirth is the final sign Many names through history You may call me Flagg Nemesis, controlling your mind Stripping you of your sanity Nemesis, controlling your fate Now your soul is mine

Special thanks to Stan Bienkiewicz and all at Noll Guitars (for 30 years of great service, but especially for the 12-string electric on “Mirage”), McKinley Daniels Blues Band (for cutting into your sound check time at The Rock to record “Kings” backing vocals), and James Turner at Arkham House Publishers (for letting me use the first verse of “Nemesis” before it was public domain)
